Kennett High School
Dear Parents and/or Guardians of the Class of 2014:
You are invited to Kennett High School on Wednesday, March 10th at 6:30 pm for the annual incoming freshman parent- student evening orientation. This event will be held in the Loynd Auditorium. The orientation will provide both you and your son or daughter with important information about the next four years of courses, our change in the scheduling model, the structure of the freshman house, and the timeline for selecting courses for next school year.
Many of the high school faculty will be available during this time. It will be a great opportunity for you and your son or daughter to meet the 9th grade teachers, as well as, many of the teachers from other departments. The guidance department will also be available to answer any questions you may have about the course selection
process.
At the end of the presentation in the Loynd Auditorium, everyone will have the opportunity to tour the building. During this time, all of the Career and Technical, Fine and Performing Arts, and Physical Education programs will be open and on display for both you and your son or daughter to see first hand what these programs
have to offer. Last year, certain programs made delicious
treats and chocolate chip cookies that made the whole school smell wonderful, as they had just been baked. Don't miss out!!!!
You are strongly encouraged to come to this event. Students will receive their own copy of the Program of Studies and their own course selection sheet. These course selection sheets will be how your student's requests get entered into our system. The importance of attending this evening can not be stressed enough. We look forward to seeing you.
Respectfully,
The Faculty and Administration of Kennett High School
