Teams

At KMS we assign students to a “team” of teachers. Currently there are four teams in the Middle School; two seventh grade teams and two eighth grade teams. We divide the students evenly between the teams. We try to have an equal number of students from each sending elementary school.

In 7th grade each team is made up of five core academic teachers. Each team has a math, social studies, science, language arts, and reading teacher. These teachers work to build a sense of community and promote curriculum integration.

Each team has a set “team time” at which time the teachers talk about student progress, meet with student’s parents, and plan for team events.
