State of the Schools-On the Road to Competency-based Education

NORTH CONWAY - The community developed strategic plan has been guiding the work of SAU #9 for the past two years. The actions and decisions made at the school and administrative levels have been shaped by this document, as the district notes they are well on their way towards achieving the goals set in it.

Superintendent, Kevin Richard commented, “As we continue to monitor our progress, we identify strengths, challenges, and opportunities for growth consistent with our beliefs, mission and vision. The work of implementing the strategic plan has led us down the path towards transforming into a competency-based educational system.

SAU #9 invites the public to join them on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 6pm in the Loynd Auditorium at Kennett High School to celebrate the successes to date, and learn more about their plans for the future.

As part of the evening, SAU #9 administrators will give a presentation about competency-based education and engage with community members in small group conversations about how the district defines student growth and achievement in the Mount Washington Valley. Light refreshments will be served. We will be providing child care for children between the ages of 3 and 11 at Kennett High School during this event. If you would like to take advantage of this complementary service, please email Siiri Chase at s_chase@sau9.org no later than noon on January 16th, 2018.
